All those with a role in our churches, such as sides persons or welcome team, making refreshments, choir members, PCC members and others, are required to attend safeguarding training at basic and foundation levels. Previously, we’ve been able to hold these within the Benefice, but this year this won’t be possible. This may not affect many people, but if you are new to a role, or if you haven’t done this training in the last three years, then you will be required to do this, and show your certificate to your Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The training is available online on the Church of England website.

This document gives full instructions for accessing this.

If you are not online and can’t access this training, then please let us know, as in person training would be available.  We can find out about this for you.

If you’re not sure if you should do the training, please ask your PSO.

If you have any questions, please be in touch.

Thank you.
