Holy Trinity Church, Dilton Marsh is celebrating 180 years and seeking people with memories of their times at the church.
Holy Trinity church has stood in the village of Dilton Marsh since 1844.
Mr T H Wyatt, the London architect of the Diocesan Church Building Society, was asked to design the church. Mr Wyatt was also the architect of the Italianate Church in Wilton, near Salisbury.
The congregation of Holy Trinity church is going to celebrate this 180th Anniversary in May 2024.
They would like to involve the whole community in these celebrations and are in the process of planning several special events to mark this anniversary.
One of these events will be a Celebration of Life Festival. This will be held on the weekend of 25th and 26th May 2024 in the church. This will be a celebration all the weddings and baptisms that have happened over the past 180 years, important life events which the church has been happy to be a part of.
The festival organisers are now seeking your help to find as many people who have celebrated important life events in the church over the years. They would like any photographs of christenings, weddings or other life events which took place at Holy Trinity. Perhaps you have some photographs of a relative’s celebrations? If you would be willing to include these precious memories in their exhibition, they would like to scan them and will return them to you promptly. They would also love to include other items, such as christening robes or wedding dresses. These would be needed closer to the exhibition.
If you have memories and/or items for the exhibition or if you would like further information, please contact
Tess Brocksopp, on 01373 822414 or [email protected] OR
Sonja Harris, 07974 236040 or [email protected]
