Westbury Junior School is looking for a new governor to support the school
I have done my best in the race, I have run the distance
2 Timothy 4:7
The Governing Body of Westbury Junior School is looking to recruit a committed
co-opted governor to join the team and would love to attract individuals from our local community. We would value the involvement of someone who would like to be part of the school’s leadership and governance as we continue to support its growth and development.
The Governing Body is looking for an individual with enthusiasm, time and flexibility to contribute effectively to the role. You do not need to be an expert in education: our board is made up of governors with a range of experiences and skills, and we are keen to reflect diversity. Governors just need an enquiring mind, the confidence to ask questions and above all a genuine interest in supporting the school, our Acting Headteacher Mrs Hannah Duffy, her staff, and parents, to achieve the best outcomes for our children.
How can you help?
As a governor you will play a key part in four areas.
- you will help set the strategic direction for the school;
- you will ensure accountability through monitoring and evaluating school performance,
- you will contribute to providing financial oversight of the school’s budget and
- you will engage with stakeholders.
- we meet once a term at 6pm on the school site for a Governor Meeting, and
- again for a Governor Monitoring visit on a day of your choosing. Each event lasts approximately 2 hours.
Alongside these requirements there are also many other ways to involve yourself in the life of the school.
