We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all those who supported our Christmas Tree Festival in December. It was a truly fantastic event, with 41 Christmas trees sponsored by a variety of organisations around the town. We counted well over 1500 people coming through our doors in the course of the weekend.
We were pleased to award the prize for the favourite Christmas Tree with the most votes, to Bitham Brook Primary school, with Friends of Victoria Gardens coming second place and Westbury Leigh school in third place.
The Festival was all organized by a loyal band of church members and friends of All Saints (including Westbury Rotary Club). They worked long hours in the cold weather: welcoming people, organizing the stalls, providing refreshments over the weekend. There was also all the organization and administration which went on behind the scenes for months in advance.
It was lovely to see so many families coming along and enjoying being in the church, and the entertainment provided over the weekend. Around £2,500 was raised for church funds but also much was gained through the contacts with the local community and the support given and received.
We also welcomed over 100 to the popular Christingle Service on the Sunday afternoon. The service was led by Revds Rebecca and Margaret. This is a wonderful way to start the Advent and Christmas season.
With many thanks to all who contributed to this in any way.
