Prayer Diary October 2021

We hope that you may wish to use this prayer diary to help you with your own prayers. In this way, we can pray together, as a parish, for our common concerns.

1st: ADHD Awareness: For an understanding of this condition.

2nd: Bullying Prevention: We pray for all victims of bullying.

3rd: Animal Welfare Sunday: For the work of animal charities.

4th:Prevention of Homelessness. For street outreach programmes, drop in centres and support for the homeless.

5th:Child Health Day. For happy, healthy children.

6th:We pray for our Ordained and Lay Ministers, also for all the volunteers who work in our churches.

7th: For those living with ill health and for their carers.

8th:For the Food Bank and Kindness Kiosk.

9th:We pray for those who live with mental health issues.

10th:Prisons Sunday. For an awareness of the needs of prisoners and their dependants.

11th:We pray for the many victims of violence and crime.

12th: World Hospice and Palliative Care Day.

15th: Teresa of Avila: For the work of Lay Pastoral Assistants.

16th:World Food Day. For all who farm and provide our food.

17th:Health Care Sunday and the Eradication of Poverty Day.

18th: Anti Slavery Day: For awareness and prevention of human trafficking and modern slavery.

19th: We pray for those feeling isolated and lonely.

20th:We pray for our politicians and decision makers.

21st: For the residents in our local care and nursing homes.

22nd  For all who continue to work to combat Covid 19.

23rd:For the Marie Curie and Macmillan cancer charities.

24th:United Nations Day. We pray for worldwide peace.

25th  We pray for the children and staff in our local schools.

26th:For the unemployed, as they seek to find work.

27th:International Religious Freedom Day. We pray for those who are facing religious oppression and persecution.

28th:For Christians in our sister diocese of South Sudan.

29th:For the victims of physical and psychological abuse.
