On Saturday 24 July All Saints’ Church opened its doors to Westbury for the first time since last year.
Over 100 people visited our church for an Open Day. Our visitors enjoyed home baking and refreshments. Some climbed up to ringing chamber. Others explored the church with our new information banners. We were able to demonstrate our new screen and projector. These were supported by grants from the Allchurches Trust and Wiltshire Council Westbury Community Area Board.
John Knapp’s Belgian Fairground Organ provided uplifting music which brought a smile to passers by and those who came to visit.
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the Open Day possible by helping out on the day or providing home baking. We’d particularly like to thank the team of helpers from the Westbury branch of Rotary International for supporting us.
The weather wasn’t on our side but those that came really enjoyed themselves with many commenting on the welcome they received as well as the beauty of our church building.
We were pleased to raise over £500 towards church funds.
