White Horse Team welcomes their new Rector

On Wednesday 5th February at 7pm around 200 people gathered in All Saint’s Church to welcome our new Team Rector, the Revd Rebecca Harris.

The Licensing Service was led by the Right Revd Nick Holtam, Bishop of Salisbury who welcomed Rebecca to the Diocese of Salisbury and the White Horse Benefice.

Many members of the Benefice took part in the Service which involved symbols of the Bible, water, keys and bells!

Rebecca’s husband, Robert their two children and Rebecca’s parents were all able to join her in the joyful occasion as well as around 20 people from her previous benefice in Somerset.

The White Horse Team were welcomed by members of the community including the Mayor of Wesbury, Mike Sutton and the Deputy Mayor Sheila Kimmins alongside leaders of the other churches in Westbury and clergy from the Heytesbury Deanery and Salisbury Cathedral.

The Church looked beautiful and members of the congregation worked hard to prepare for the celebration, including preparing a tremendous post-service buffet which was enjoyed by all.

We are so pleased to welcome Rebecca to the White Horse Team and look forward to getting to know her over the coming months and years!

(I knew Rebecca at her former parish church of St Michael’s, Creech St Michael, Taunton where my family had lived for many years)
