Upcycled Chair Expo and Auction Saturday 8 September
It is hard to believe that our Transform-A-Chair Summer Challenge is coming to an end and the Upcycled Chair Expo and Auction is nearly upon us. We have had a magnificent response and there are nearly 70 chairs out there being upcycled with at least one that is hoping not to come back as a chair.
We challenged the BBC to join in and Ben Prater, from the BBC Wiltshire Radio breakfast show accepted. We may even have another BBC Radio surprise but that is not confirmed yet. The BBC really ran with the project, on air, last week and have got lots of people involved and interested. What makes it really special is that one of these places was Renew Swindon.
Renew Swindon aims to relieve social isolation and loneliness, help promote health and create a community for those who may have skills and may not be using them or passing them on. It’s terrific that our fundraising project has turned into an outreach project as well
The church will be open between 10am and 7pm on Friday 7th September for the return of the Upcycled chairs with the Expo open at Holy Trinity Church Dilton Marsh on Saturday 8th September from 10am – 1pm and the Auction taking place at 2pm. Do join us!
