Ordination of Melanie Otto

Our curate, Melanie Otto was ordained priest at a joyful celebration in Salisbury Cathedral on Saturday 30 June. Many members of the White Horse Benefice joined with Melanie and her family in a sweltering Cathedral to see the ordination of men and women as deacons and priests.

See the Holy Trinity Dilton Marsh Facebook page for more information about the day!

On Sunday 1 July, Melanie celebrated her first Eucharist as priest. The sermon was given by Rev Paul Burden of Sarum College who had supported Melanie through her studies at Sarum College. The format of the service was chosen by Melanie and reflected her personality and future style of ministry.  At the conclusion of the Service Team Rector, Rev Rhona Floate, presented Melanie with a gift from the congregation and a welcoming hug!

It was a joyful occasion with a congregation of over 100 people from the congregations of All Saints’, Holy Trinity, and Holy Saviour.

After the service there was lots of conversation, cake and a celebratory bring and share lunch.

We all wish Melanie a very long and happy ministry!
